Statement of Faith

My Personal Statement of Faith

When choosing a Christian or faith-based counselor or mentor, faith matters.  I want to be transparent as reasonably possible where I stand in terms my own personal faith walk.

  1. I believe the Bible to to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word of God.
  2. I believe there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit.
  3. I believe Jesus Christ is God
  4. I believe that we were created in God’s image to know Him and have relationship with Him. However, we willfully rejected the Lordship and glory of God for which we were intended. Because of this, sickness, death, and judgement entered the world and now creation experiences the effects and consequences of sin.
  5. I believe that we are all born sinners and under God’s just condemnation. There is nothing we can do in our own strength to save ourselves. We must place our personal faith and trust in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior in order to be saved. When we place our trust in Christ, God declares us righteous and adopts us as children. God comes to dwell within us through the Holy Spirit, and we become a new person, growing in holiness and persevering in our faith.
  6. I believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory. I believe He was fully God who made Himself fully man.
  7. We are saved by God’s grace, through faith in the person and work of Jesus Christ.
  8. Anyone can be restored to fellowship with God through repenting, believing, and receiving Jesus as their Savior and Lord. The Holy Spirit, convicts, regenerates, justifies, and adopts us as we enter the kingdom of God as His sons and daughters. It is not through works that we are saved, but through grace.
  9. I believe that a life surrendered to God as Lord of our lives changes us and brings fruit in our lives. Jesus is the vine and we are the branches, we are called to be rooted to Him, to be in Him, and to have relationship with Him. (John 15)
  10. I believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit who convicts, restores, comforts, reveals, and empowers the believer in his/her walk.

After trauma from being belittled or spoken down t After trauma from being belittled or spoken down to, finding your voice again can feel hard—but it’s possible. God can help restore your voice and bring you back to the truth of who you are in Him. Here’s how to begin:

1️⃣ Identify & Replace the Lies — Start by calling out the lies that may have taken root and replace them with God’s truth. You are loved, worthy, and purposefully created.

2️⃣ Embrace Your God-Given Worth — In prayer, ask God to show you how He sees you. Meditate on Psalm 139:14—“I praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.” Remind yourself that your voice matters.

3️⃣ Take Small, Brave Steps — Rebuilding confidence is a process. Start by speaking up in safe spaces, like sharing with trusted friends or journaling in prayer.

4️⃣ Lean into Faith-Centered Community — Community is a powerful space for rebuilding strength and courage. When you’re surrounded by people who uplift and support you, healing becomes possible.

Feeling overwhelmed lately? When life feels overw Feeling overwhelmed lately?

When life feels overwhelming and anxiety or trauma seem like an endless battle, it’s easy to feel lost and alone. But you don’t have to fight these battles on your own. There is a way to find peace, even in the middle of the storm.

Worship invites you to shift your focus from the chaos around you to the presence of Jesus. Scientifically, it’s proven that worship activates parts of your brain that calm anxiety and reduce fear, but spiritually, it goes even deeper. When you worship, you’re rewiring your mind—replacing fear and worry with trust in God. Worship fills your heart with God’s truth, breaking the mental patterns of fear, trauma, and anxiety that have held you captive.

When you praise, your mind focuses on Jesus, and your heart begins to heal. Jesus promises to meet you in the midst of your pain, offering the peace and rest your soul craves.

“You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You.” —Isaiah 26:3 (NKJV)

If you’re ready to stop living in fear and anxiety, start by turning your heart to worship. Jesus is waiting to meet you there and renew your mind.
